Latest Shocking Entertainment News: Dennis Quaid Says His Heart Still 'Breaks' Over Natasha Richardson's Death
Dennis Quaid got emotional while talking about his late Parent Trap costar Natasha Richardson.
“My heart breaks every time,” Quaid, 71, said in a video shared via social media on Tuesday, March 10. “Natasha, she was just, what an incredible person.”
Richardson died in 2009 after suffering a head injury on a ski slope. She was 45 years old.
“If there’s anybody I would want to work with again, it’d be her,” Quaid gushed. “She was a great person, besides being an amazing actor to work with. The way she went was hell.”

Quaid continued, “She has a charm to her and just her relationship with her own kids, that she brought also to [set]. There’s just something magical about her. You just forget about all this other stuff,” he said with a laugh.
“She’s just present when you’re working with her,” Quaid added. “[I] really miss her.”
Quaid also reflected on the success of the 1998 movie, which also starred Lindsay Lohan, Elaine Hendrix and Lisa Ann Walter. “There’s a whole generation of kids that were 8 years old at the time, who saw the movie 42 times on VHS and their kids rented it with their kids now, it turned out to be the most watched film of anything I’ve ever done,” he said.
Fans gushed over Quaid’s memories of Richardson in the comments section. “He had such a love and respect for her, you can tell❤️,” one wrote. A second added, “Omg 🥹♥️.” More added heart emojis.
Quaid, who played Richardson’s ex-husband in The Parent Trap, previously spoke about her death in 2024, telling E! News, “Natasha, God bless her. She passed from us about 10 years ago and she’s so sorely missed. What a beautiful, beautiful woman, great person.”

He also opened up about his relationship with Lohan, 39, sharing that the actress, who played twins Annie and Hallie in the beloved movie, sent him a sweet message for his 70th birthday.
“She sent a video wishing me a happy birthday yesterday,” he said at the time. “She came to [the] screen test and I think she was 11, and wow — I couldn’t believe it. She just had such control over her talent and what she was doing and during the shooting. She had me believing there were two girls. She was completely fearless.”
