Latest Shocking Entertainment News: Naomi Watts Receives Support From Daughter Kai at ‘The Friend’ Premiere
Naomi Watts celebrated The Friend premiere with some of her nearest and dearest family members.
On Monday, March 25, the actress, 56, stepped out at the iPic Theater in New York City with her 16-year-old daughter Kai Schreiber, who she shares with ex-husband Liev Schreiber.
For the red carpet event, Watts arrived in a white Jacquemus dress with black spots styled by Jeanann Williams. She completed her look with Briony Raymond jewelry.
Watts playfully joked that her style looked similar to Bing the Great Dane after posing on the red carpet together.

“One of us has got to change! @bing.the.great.dane,” she wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, March 25, after joking her four-legged costar stole her look. “#TheFriendMovie @bleeckerstfilms.”
As for Kai, 16, she teamed up with stylist Ashley Afriyie to execute a Valentino look. “Hiii 
,” the model wrote via Instagram when sharing memories from her night in the Big Apple.
While celebrating her new film, Watts also received support from her husband Billy Crudup. Married since June 2023, the couple held hands as they posed for photographers.
Based on the bestselling novel, The Friend tells the story of writer and teacher Iris (Watts) who finds her life in disarray after her closest friend (Bill Murray) leaves her his beloved 150 lb. Great Dane, Apollo.
As Iris finds herself unexpectedly bonding with Apollo, she begins to come to terms with her past and her own inner life in a story of healing, love and friendship.
“Howls all around!” Watts wrote via Instagram on Sunday, March 23. “The Friend was so, so special to film. And every time an actor wrapped their work on the film, Bing would give us a special send off 
.”
While the night was dedicated to Watts and her costars, the actress recently celebrated a major moment in her daughter’s career.
On March 9, Kai made her Paris Fashion Week runway debut when she strutted down the Valentino Fall 2025 catwalk.
“That’s my @maisonvalentino baby!” Watts wrote via Instagram after cheering on her daughter. “I’m squealing with pride. Ilysm @kaischreiberrr 
.”
In a separate Instagram post, Liev, 57, gushed over his daughter, writing, “Ladies and gentlemen the one, the only, the indomitable @kaischreiberr!”

As for the critics who claim Kai only got the gig because of her parents, Liev said he doesn’t really have “many thoughts” or time to address the haters.
“I’m going to put it like this,” he told TMZ on March 12. “What if you were a professional actor and your child decided they wanted to do something in this world? Did they have a choice of what you did? It doesn’t matter, like, that’s her life. She does what she wants with her life and I’m super proud of her. I thought she did an amazing job in the show.”
The Friend hits theatres everywhere on Friday, March 28.
