Top 30 highest salaries of the best paid players in Ligue 1 have been revealed.

The amounts are per month and in euros, roughly 100,000 euros equals £86,000.

The very best paid player gets almost twice as much as the next highest, Neymar receiving 3.060,000 euros per month (£2.63m), with Kylian Mbappe next highest on ‘only’ 1,730,000 (£1.47m) per month.

If for some reason you wondered why PSG are dominating French football, the fact they have 13 of the 14 highest paid might have something to do with it.

I count at least 11 former Premier League players in the list, a reminder that once players ave appeared in the English top tier, it is vefry difficult for your average French club to afford to then take them back to France.

Two former Newcastle players are included.

Florian Thauvin is the 21st highest paid in Ligue 1, receiving 422,000 euros (£363,000) per month.

Whilst Hatem Ben Arfa is one place lower on 400,000 euros (£343,000).
