Ryan Lochte’s estranged wife Kayla Lochte is opening up about the former couple’s ongoing divorce.
“I’m currently navigating a complex divorce, and let me tell you — divorce can feel like being frozen in time,” Kayla, 34, wrote in a lengthy Instagram post on Friday, October 24, essentially reintroducing herself to friends and fans amid her separation from the Olympian. “I’m using this season to rebuild, rediscover who I am, and chase my dreams with clarity and courage.”
Kayla, who has been estranged from Lochte, 41, since she filed for divorce in March 2025, began her post by sharing a “new headshot,” while telling fans she has the “same heart.”
“It’s been a while since I’ve properly introduced myself so here are 10 things to (re)introduce me,” she continued. “My name is Kayla — mom of three amazing kids and two dogs. I’m a realtor who loves sharing real life on social media (but I wouldn’t call myself an influencer — just someone with a platform).”

Kayla went on to add that her “passion” is “helping people.”
“I’m a connector by nature and thrive on bringing ideas and people together to make things happen,” she wrote. “My parents split when I was two, so I grew up a bi-coastal kid flying solo to visit my dad — independent from the start.”
Her family is “everything,” Kayla added, despite the fact that they live “in California and Florida.”
“I do my best to stay deeply connected,” she continued.
Kayla filed for divorce from Ryan in March 2025 after seven years of marriage. The pair share three children: Caiden, born in 2017, Liv, born in 2019, and Georgia, born in 2023.
In September, Kayla filed docs that raised concerns about Ryan’s sobriety after she allegedly found empty bags of cocaine in the home. She also accused the famed swimmer of using nitrous oxide in front of one of their children.
Ryan has denied the allegations to Us Weekly.
“As I acknowledged earlier this week, after my car accident in 2023, I fell into a cycle of depression that led to substance abuse,” Ryan told Us on September 2. “I am not denying that I used drugs in my home, but I adamantly deny ever using drugs in front of or around my children, and I have never driven them while intoxicated.”
Ryan continued, “At times, I would rest in my truck instead of going inside — not because I was impaired, but because the home environment had become overwhelming and very toxic, and I needed a moment to collect myself before walking in.”
Ryan told Us that he “tried desperately to keep these divorce proceedings private and sealed,” not for his sake but as a way, he said, to “protect my children from” allegedly “fabricated allegations that could hurt them.”

“Unfortunately, despite that effort, my ex-wife chose to make this matter public, knowing I was already in intensive rehab,” he continued. “We all make mistakes in life. We are not defined by those mistakes, but by how we learn from them and the work we put in to overcome them. I am extremely sorry for hurting or disappointing anyone along the way. My focus now is on my recovery, on being the best father I can be, and on moving forward in a way that keeps my kids safe, supported, and loved.”
