Latest Shocking Entertainment News: Alana Stewart Details Losing a Longtime Friend After Voting for Trump

Alana Stewart is detailing how her public support for President Donald Trump has impacted her personal friendships.

“I just had the most surprising experience of having a long-time good friend of mine tell me that she couldn’t be my friend anymore because she can’t be around anyone who supports Trump,” Stewart, 81, wrote via X on Thursday, September 3, without identifying her former pal. “It’s so shocking and so sad to me that some people can actually give up a friendship because of someone’s political views.”

Alana, the ex-wife of rocker Rod Stewart, stressed that she had “never even discussed” politics with her now-former friend.

“I know our views are so different. I mostly discuss my political views with like-minded people,” Alana noted. “I never post anything political on Instagram, but do on X. I’m not a rabid Trump supporter who loves everything he does or says, but all in all I think he’s done a lot of good things for the country and certainly better than the last administration.”

She continued, “Most of us who voted for him wanted the border closed and illegals deported, especially criminals. The left seems to have a terrible problem with that and thinks it’s cruel. Rather, we should just support anyone who wants to come to this country and pay for their schooling, medical bills, welfare, housing, etc. That doesn’t make any sense to anyone except for crazy liberals.”

Alana further praised Trump, 80, for allegedly accomplishing “so much” during his second term in the White House. (The former reality TV star previously served in the Oval Office from 2016 to 2020, when Joe Biden was elected to a four-year term.)

“He’s gotten so much done during his term, taking away tax on tips has been tremendously helpful to working people and taxes on Social Security for the seniors,” Alana added in her X upload. “The left loves to call him a fascist. That’s their buzz word, just like calling someone a racist.”

She concluded, “Conservatives would never end a long friendship because someone’s political views were different. It just makes me shake my head.” (Right-wing conservatives and Trump supporters have, on many occasions, discussed their decision to end their personal relationships over a friend or family member’s opposing political views.)

The Where the Boys Are actress has previously discussed her political affiliations and approval of Trump’s policies via social media.

“Well, we haven’t had a funnier President,” Alana tweeted in July after Trump shared an AI-generated image of himself smoking a cigar while wearing a Trump 2028 hat. “I think if all the people who had TDS could just have a little humor, they could get through it a lot easier. Why are liberals so freaking uptight?”
