President Donald Trump’s personal twist on the Pledge of Allegiance at the Republican midterm convention is raising eyebrows.
“Please raise your right hand. I pledge to the greatest president in the history of the United States that loves us so much he can’t even breathe,” Trump, 80, told his supporters on Thursday, September 10, per USA Today. “That I will go out with my family, my friends. I’ll do it anyway. I don’t care if I am registered or not, I am going to cheat like hell like they do. There have never been bigger cheaters.”
Trump was seemingly addressing unfounded claims of Democrat voting irregularities.
As he received laughs and a round of applause from his supporters, the commander in chief continued, “I’m going to go out and get my friends, my family, and we are going to vote on November 3, or we are going to vote before that.”

The 2026 Republican National Convention was a two-day political rally and showcase held in Dallas to energize voters ahead of the midterm election.
Vice President JD Vance and Republican Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina also spoke at the event.
During his speech, Trump urged his supporters to vote Republican on Election Day.
“And you know what? If you want, you can vote Democrat, but I don’t think there’s one person in this room that’s going to vote [for them],” he said. “I don’t think so.”
Trump continued, “You know what happens if you don’t vote? You go to hell, you know that? You go to hell, and I don’t want that to happen to you, so please go and vote.”
Earlier in his speech, Trump pledged that he will give every United States adult citizen a $5,000 dividend if Republicans win both the House and the Senate in the midterm elections.

“If we win the midterms, we will, on the other hand, provide a, let’s call it a ‘Trump dividend,’ $5,000 for every adult citizen in our country, and we can do that because our country has never done better,” Trump claimed.
Congress would need to approve any payment before it’s issued to the American people. Critics fear it would cause inflation to skyrocket when the country is already in a deficit.
“What I would say is, if you are getting surplus revenue, you should cut people’s taxes and return it to the people,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said during a press conference on Thursday. “What I don’t think you want to do is borrow another trillion-and-a-half dollars and then just try to flood that into the economy, because that will lead to more inflation. That will lead to more debt and more inflation.”
