Latest Shocking Entertainment News: Jerry O'Connell Details Conversation With Rebecca Romijn's Ex John Stamos

Jerry O’Connell recalls having a “friendly conversation” with wife Rebecca Romijn’s ex-husband, John Stamos, at a recent event.

“John Stamos was at this party and I was like, ‘I got to make a beeline for him. I gotta just like, I got to go extend my hand,’” O’Connell, 52, said during SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live on Tuesday, June 23. “So I went, I saw him. His beautiful new wife was there. They have a kid. I put my hand out.”

Stamos, 62, has been married to Caitlin McHugh since February 2018 and they share one son, Billy, born in April 2018.

O’Connell confirmed that he and Stamos shared a hug during the gathering.

“I hugged him and I said, ‘Why didn’t you tell me about the shopping addiction?’ I’m kidding,” O’Connell quipped on Tuesday, seemingly referring to Romijn, 53. “That was a light-hearted joke I was trying to come up with.”

He didn’t share specific details about their conversation, but O’Connell confirmed that he and Stamos had a 20-minute chat.

“I made some self-deprecating jokes. I made sure his new wife was there. You want everyone to feel included,” O’Connell continued. “I whispered to him when I hugged him, ‘She says you’re bigger than me.’ … I whispered, ‘She says Greeks are better lovers.’”

O’Connell shared a photo of him and Stamos, along with the Full House alum’s wife, 40, in November 2025.

Stamos and Romijn were married from 1998 to 2005. She moved on with O’Connell shortly after their split and were married by 2007. O’Connell and Romijin share twin daughters, Dolly and Charlie, 17.

Stamos has spoken at length about the “ups and downs” in his past relationship with Romijn, especially in his 2023 memoir, If You Would Have Told Me.

“My wife is not someone who has her name or anything on Google Alert, but I have my finger on the pulse. I like to see everything. I know of everything,” O’Connell explained on Tuesday. “I am the buffer between my wife, who I love — Rebecca Romijn, Star Trek coming out this summer, I hope we come back up here and publicize it — and John Stamos stories.”

He added, “I usually come home and go, ‘Honey, John Stamos, who you loved for many years, he was on a podcast and said some stuff. Would you like to listen to it?’”

According to the S.W.A.T. Exiles actor, Romijn usually says yes.

This scenario happened recently when Stamos appeared on the June 10 episode of Bobbi Althoff’s “The Really Good Podcast” and discussed his divorce from Romijn.

“I don’t remember exactly what he said — he didn’t want to get divorced or something like that,” O’Connell recalled. “I can tell my wife is very interested in these stories because, first of all, it was a big part of her life.”

He continued, “She met that dude when she was 19, OK? She was with him until she was 29. That’s 10 years. I love it because I’m just like a gossipy fiend.”
