Latest Shocking Entertainment News: Prince William Appears to Dodge a Question About Prince Andrew Scandal

Prince William is not up for discussing his family drama, it seems.

William, 43, chatted with CNN during his recent trip to Brazil when journalist Christiane Amanpour noted that there’s been “a lot of change in your own family recently,” during the Wednesday, November 5, interview.

The Prince of Wales was quick to bring the conversation back to the Earthshot Prize, calling it “a classic example of change,” which was the reason for his overseas trip.

“Rather than talk about it, we’re doing it. That’s where I want it to be,” he continued. “These people in here are the true action heroes of all time, and change will come by backing them, not by what I do.”

William added, “I want to surround myself with people who want to make, change and do good in the world.” (William first discussed his ideas for change while appearing on the AppleTV series The Reluctant Traveler last month.)

William headed to Brazil earlier this week to attend the COP30 climate summit and announce the finalists for his Earthshot Prize, which has been awarded to five winners annually since 2021 for their contributions towards environmentalism.

The overseas trip was William’s first major outing since his uncle Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was stripped of his prince title and evicted from his home at the Royal Lodge. William has stayed silent in the wake of his family drama and has not commented publicly on Andrew’s connection to late billionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

King Charles III announced on October 30 that Andrew would no longer be a prince as the scandal continued to make headlines.

“Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence,” the statement from Buckingham Palace read. “Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.”

The statement concluded, “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

Us understands that the royal family, including William, fully supported the king’s decision. Speculation that there is tension between William and Andrew has continued to swirl in the wake of the drama. (Some reports stated that Andrew’s attitude toward Princess Kate Middleton was at the root of their issues.)

Andrew was initially accused of having a sexual encounter with the late Virginia Giuffre in 2019. She claimed at the time that they had sex when she was underage in 2001.

Giuffre sued Andrew for sexual abuse in 2021 and they settled out of court the following year. She died by suicide at age 41 earlier this year.

Last month, Giuffre’s memoir was published posthumously and featured further allegations against Andrew. He has continued to deny all the claims.
