Candace Cameron Bure and Valeri Bure have set an example with their long-lasting marriage.
The actress and Winter Olympics medalist were originally set up by her Full House costar Dave Coulier. “[Lori Loughlin and I] were looking at these two cute men on the ice, and I was like, ‘I wanna meet that one, the blonde one,’ which was Val,” she recalled during a 2014 interview. “We went on a date the very next day, and in less than a year we were engaged.”
After the pair tied the knot in 1996, they expanded their family with kids Natasha, Lev and Maksim. Through the years, Cameron Bure offered glimpses at the commitment required to make a marriage work.
“My husband is a natural-born leader. I quickly learned that I had to find a way of honoring his take-charge personality and not get frustrated about his desire to have the final decision on just about everything,” she wrote in her 2013 book, Balancing It All. “I am not a passive person, but I chose to fall into a more submissive role in our relationship because I wanted to do everything in my power to make my marriage and family work.”

The pair expanded their family with daughter Natasha.

The former Dancing with the Stars contestant welcomed son Lev two years after their eldest child was born.

2007
The couple went into business together when they opened The Milk and Honey CafƩ in Florida. After making the move to California, Cameron Bure and Bure closed the restaurant and branched out with a Napa Valley winery, Bure Family Wines, in 2009.

During an interview, the Make It or Break It alum shared how her hit sitcom was a huge help to the former NHL player. "He actually learned English from watching Full House," she told Access Hollywood. "He's Russian and he came to this country when he was 17."

2018
The former View cohost reflected on personal challenges with Bure, exclusively telling Us, “Marriage is a wonderful, beautiful thing but there’s always going to be tough times. There’s no one that has this amazingly perfect marriage. … You just hang in there and stick with it.” Cameron Bure noted that a busy schedule helps keep the spark alive, saying, "Because I travel a lot, that’s the secret! Because, you know, being away from each other makes the heart grow fonder.” She continued: “I always say, put your spouse on a pedestal. And in return, you’re hoping, which my husband does, we have the same respect for one another other … and some days neither of us deserve it, but we do it because we honor one another and respect each other. You hang in there, you’re always going to come back on the upswing if you’re in a low spot.”

The author clapped back after a photo of her and Bure getting cozy received backlash. “For all of the Christians that are questioning my post with my husband’s hand on my boob — my husband of 24 years — thinking it was inappropriate, it makes me laugh because it’s my husband,” she said in a series of videos on her Instagram Stories. “We have so much fun together. He can touch me anytime he wants, and I hope he does. That is what a healthy, good marriage and relationship is all about.” The Switched For Christmas star jokingly attempted to apologize before she started laughing. “I’m sorry if it offended you. Grace. Grace. Communication (which is so important but difficult when one partner isn’t willing.),” she wrote about the secret to her connection with Bure. “Sex. Laughter. Patience. Lots of patience. Love (a verb. which must be put into action, it’s not just a feeling.)”

According to Cameron Bure, it has always been "important" for her and the Russia native to "make time for one another" in their lives. "I'm a happier person and my husband's a happier person when we've had sex. ... We don't have a schedule for that," she shared on the "Mayim Bialik's Breakdown" podcast before praising her husband's sense of humor. "When there's that playfulness, like, there is nothing that makes me happier and more attracted to him."
