Latest Shocking Entertainment News: Tim McGraw Shares Vintage Faith Hill Photo on NYE: 'Still Goin Strong'
As sweet as a love song! Faith Hill and Tim McGraw have one of the strongest relationships in the music industry — and their bond just keeps getting better.
The country couple first met at a Nashville gig in late 1994, when they were each seeing other people. At the time, the “Just to See You Smile” singer was dating Kristine Donahue, and Hill had just finalized her divorce from Daniel Hill. Two years later, Faith joined McGraw on the Spontaneous Combustion tour and sparks began to fly.
After a whirlwind romance, the “Don’t Take the Girl” crooner wed his country cutie in October 1996 in his Louisiana hometown. Nearly 20 years later, McGraw looked back on the romantic moment he proposed to his soulmate on tour.
“We were in the dressing room, here, June 26, 1996, and it was raining and stuff and we’d been on tour for a while together, and I joked around with her about getting married. And so I looked at her, grabbed her by the hand, and dropped forward [on my knees] onstage,” he recalled in a nostalgic video in October 2015. “She said, ‘We’re at a country music festival in a trailer house, and you’re asking me to marry you?’ And I said, ‘Yeah.’ So I went onstage … When I came back offstage, [I saw] a Sharpie with lipstick kisses all over it, saying, ‘Yes! I’m gonna be your wife.’”
The couple brought their love all across the country — and later, around the world — on their Soul2Soul tour. Between gigs, awards shows and recording hits, the pair welcomed three daughters: Grace in 1997, Maggie in 1998 and Aubrey in 2001.
Even through their most difficult moments, McGraw and the “Mississippi Girl” songstress have stood strongly by each other’s side. When Faith lost her father, Ted Perry, in February 2019, her husband shared a loving tribute on social media in his honor.
“He was the sweetest, kindest most gentle man I’ve ever known,” McGraw wrote at the time. “No man in my life has ever made such an impact on me as to how to be a human, a father and a friend.”

McGraw reflected on getting sober in 2008 during an interview with Esquire. He pointed to a moment when he was “getting out of and going to the liquor cabinet and taking a big shot at 8:00 in the morning and thinking, ‘I have to wake the kids up’” as his last straw. "I went straight to my wife and said, 'This is where I'm at.' I was scared,” he recalled. “She just grabbed me and hugged me and changed my life.” The country crooner proceeded to gush over his wife and how her love his part of what has helped him remain strong all these years. "My wife always says, 'You're not scared of anything.' I say, 'Ehhh, one thing. I'm looking at it right now,'" McGraw told the magazine. "I didn't know love could feel so good. Was it an emotion? Was it a lifestyle? Was it an imaginary thing? But love is all of those things." He continued: "Love is being angry. Love is not talking for a day. Love is getting in each other's face. Love is accepting that I'm wrong. Love is a 360-degree thing. It's not linear. They always say you're not supposed to fight in front of your kids. Everybody fights in front of their kids. The “Highway Don’t Care” singer reflected on his proposal to Hill 25 years after they tied the knot. “25 years later and it's still the best day of my life. Thanks for going on this journey with me. Love you Faith ❤️,” McGraw captioned an Instagram video, explaining that it took him a “few times” to get his now-wife to accept his proposal."We had dated for a while. I actually asked her to marry me quite a few times and she kept saying no. She said, 'I'm not going to get involved with another country singer, it's just not going to work out,’” he remembered. McGraw decided to get down on one knee during a country music festival he was performing at, in hopes Hill would finally say yes. "They had these trailer houses set up. I'm getting ready to go onstage, and I had this sort of case that had this big mirror in it. She's standing there, and we're talking, and I said, 'Look, let's get married,'" he recalled. "And she says, 'You're asking me to marry you at a country music festival in a trailer house?' And I said, 'Well, it's pretty apropos if you think about it.' She goes, 'Are you serious?' And I said, 'Well, yeah, I'm serious.'" Before getting her answer, the country crooner had to head out on stage to do his set. The couple star in the Yellowstone prequel series, 1883, which dropped its first trailer on November 7. It’s the first time the husband and wife, who play early settlers James and Margaret Dutton, have appeared together on the big screen. "To see my beautiful wife on horseback, firing guns, and having dirt all over her face, I just sit in awe. She's a strong woman, anyway,” McGraw told Entertainment Weekly days before the teaser was released. “[Creator] Taylor [Sheridan] said early on to me, 'Man, you'll just get on that horse. You're not scared of anything.' I said, 'I'm scared of one thing. She's right over there.'" 1883 premieres on Paramount+ December 19. Paramount+
The “Live Like You Were Dying” singer gushed about what it’s like acting alongside his wife on the Yellowstone prequel, 1883, who also plays his spouse on screen. “We were in bed last night and talked for two hours because we got so caught up in the moment that we almost couldn’t even remember it,” he told Parade. “I told her, ‘This is incredible. McGraw opened up about maintaining a strong relationship with Hill despite living life in the spotlight. “I don’t know if there’s a key. We always say we’re 27 years coming up, it’s like 96 in show business.
