Latest Shocking Celebrity News: Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas Bring 20-Year-Old Daughter Carys to Cannes
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas turned the Cannes Film Festival into a family affair. The couple brought their 20-year-old daughter, Carys Zeta Douglas, to the "Jeanne du Barry" screening and opening ceremony on May 16. After walking the red carpet arm in arm, the trio posed together on the staircase at the Palais des Festivals, with Catherine and Carys both kissing Michael on the cheek as he beamed with joy. Michael was also photographed looking on proudly as the paparazzi snapped pictures of his daughter.
The family dressed to the nines for the famously glamorous event. Catherine and Carys subtly coordinated by each wearing Elie Saab gowns - the former chose a red plunging design with a flowing cape, while the latter stunned in a white sheer number with side cutouts. The mother-daughter pair also both accessorized with Sarah Flint heels and Chopard jewelry. Michael looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo, bowtie, and white pocket square.
This was Carys's first time at Cannes, and she was in tow for a worthy reason. During the opening ceremony gala dinner, her dad was awarded with the honorary Palme d'Or prize in celebration of his long-standing career and impact on cinema. He gave Catherine and Carys a shout-out while accepting the award on stage, saying, "[I] also want to say hello to my wife and to thank her and my daughter, Carys, who are with us tonight, to thank you for your love, your support."
Both Catherine and her daughter memorialized the special day with sweet Instagram posts. "Cannes! Cannes! What a soirée! To walk the iconic red carpet with my daughter @carys.douglas and my husband @michaelkirkdouglas as he receives his lifetime achievement Palm D'Or was a night I shall never forget, ever," Catherine captioned several red carpet photos. Carys echoed the same sentiment, writing, "Thank you Cannes for the most wonderful evening! It was an honor to celebrate my father as he received his lifetime achievement Palm D'Or. Bon festival!"
Catherine, 53, and Michael, 78, also share a 22-year-old son, Dylan, who stepped out with his famous parents for the "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" premiere earlier this year. Michael has another son, 44-year-old Cameron, whom he shares with ex-wife Diandra Luker.
