Latest Shocking Celebrity News: Dua Lipa and Director Romain Gavras Go Red Carpet Official at the Cannes Film Festival

Dua Lipa and French director Romain Gavras made their official red carpet debut as a couple at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday, May 19. The duo attended the debut of the film "Omar la Fraise."

The pair stepped out in coordinating black outfits. Lipa donned a dynamic off-the-shoulder black dress with cutouts that knotted at her waist. Meanwhile, Gavras looked dapper in a classic black suit. The couple looked cozy as they walked the red carpet, posing with their arms around one another and laughing together.

Lipa and Gavras were first spotted leaving a party together in London, in February, according to Entertainment Tonight. The outlet also published photos of the couple holding hands at Saint Laurent's Paris Fashion Week show in March.

Gavras is best known for directing music videos like Kanye West's "No Church in the Wild" and M.I.A.'s "Bad Girls." He also directed the 2022 film "Athena." Prior to dating Lipa, he was linked to Rita Ora in 2020 before she married "Thor: Ragnarok" director Taika Waititi.

As for Lipa, she was previously in a long-term relationship with Gigi and Bella Hadid's brother, Anwar. They split in December 2021 after nearly two years of dating. Since then, the "One Kiss" singer was rumored to have dated Jack Harlow and Trevor Noah. But in October 2022, she made it clear she wasn't seeing anyone seriously and was instead enjoying being single.

"For me, this is the first year I've not been in a relationship for a very long time," she said on her "Dua Lipa: At Your Service" podcast. "It's been really great to just be alone and only think about myself and kind of be quite selfish, which I've never really had the opportunity to do. But when you find someone that really softens you and calms you down … it makes a big difference!"
