Latest Shocking Celebrity News: Ben Affleck Roasts Matt Damon as a Roommate: "I Would Not Suggest Living With Him"
Ben Affleck is spilling all the tea about living with Matt Damon. During an appearance on "The Late Late Show" on April 13, Affleck reflected on his decades-long friendship with Damon, including the period of time when they lived together in Los Angeles with Affleck's brother, Casey. "Matt's never paid a bill to this day," Affleck teased. When host James Corden asked point-blank whether Damon was a good or bad roommate, Affleck doled out some praise for his bestie before going all in with the real scoop.
"Matt's a beautiful guy. I love him. He's my best friend. He's been great to me my whole life. H's a brilliant guy," he said, before adding, "I would not suggest living with him." It sounds like cleanliness isn't exactly Damon's forte. "One of the things he blocks out is the idea that when you finish with something, it has to be washed or thrown away," Affleck said.
To drive the point home, he recalled once putting Damon to the test by not cleaning anything in their house for two whole weeks to see if he'd budge and pick up a sponge or take out the trash. One day, he came home to see his roommate playing a video game on the couch "surrounded by concentric circles of garbage," including pizza boxes and a week-and-a-half-old container of sushi that was filled with maggots. Blegh. "God bless his wife, Lucy. There's a place for you in heaven," Affleck joked, referencing Damon's wife of 17 years, Luciana Barroso.
Past roommate differences aside, Damon and Affleck have forged one of the tightest friendships in Hollywood, sticking by each other's side since childhood. The actors have appeared in a total of nine movies together throughout their careers, starting with "Field of Dreams" and most recently including "Air," the Amazon Studios film that hit theaters earlier this month. Their bond was even referenced in a new Dunkin' advertisement in which an employee hilariously mistakes Affleck for Damon.
