Latest Shocking Entertainment News: Russell Simmons Accuses Ex Kimora Lee Simmons of Keeping Him From Daughters

Russell Simmons has thoughts about his ex-wife, Kimora Lee Simmons, claiming that they don’t have any type of relationship.

“I gave you $50,000 a month for 20 years. I was your best /only friend,” Russell, 68, wrote via Threads on Sunday, December 14. “I’m the godfather to your other three kids, until one day you stole my stock.”

He continued, “I have been fighting for my kids’ love and my bread ever since. You threatened that if I sued you, I would never speak to my kids again. There are two sides to every story.”

Russell’s post comes shortly after Kimora, 50, claimed that she’s not in touch with any of her children’s fathers. Kimora and Russell share daughters Ming, 25, and Aoki, 23. The Baby Phat designer also shares son Kenzo, 16, with Djimon Hounsou, and son Wolfe, 10, with Tim Leissner. In addition, Kimora adopted son Gary, 16, in 2020.

“Usually I would say that I coparent OK, but the kids are with me full-time,” Kimora told People in a Thursday, December 11, profile. “I’m pretty much the primary parent. It’s difficult, but I don’t know sometimes what other people are thinking. Guys are weird.”

Kimora has not publicly addressed Russell’s accusations. Us Weekly has reached out for comment.

Despite Russell claiming that he’s unable to contact his daughters, Kimora has made it clear that she’s never enforced such a rule.

“It’s so weird because I think it used to be a little different,” the Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane star said on the “Not Skinny Not Fat” podcast earlier this month. “They’re not involved. I’m alone. They’re not even really around, and they’re welcome to be around — just to clarify for the record.”

She continued, “They’re welcome to be around at their will and leisure. My kids are all big enough and old enough to have their own relationships and do their own things. It’s not about me and all.”

Kimora subsequently concurred with podcast host Amanda Hirsch that it is “a loss” for her kids to be estranged from their fathers.

“I don’t know what they know, maybe they’re intimidated,” Kimora speculated of her exes. “Or maybe they’re, like, ‘She’s got it [and] I don’t want to get in her way.’ Maybe they’re like, ‘I don’t like her.’ I don’t know. I think a lot goes through their head though about the other parent and less about the child. As a mother, you cannot imagine.”

Ming and Aoki, specifically, have been vocal about their distant relationship with their dad. In summer 2023, Aoki uploaded since-deleted screenshots of FaceTime calls with Russell to Instagram, which appeared to feature the music executive yelling at her.

“I don’t regret it,” Aoki told Teen Vogue in September 2023 of publishing the alleged exchange with Russell. “Part of it was already out there. There were reasons I thought it was reasonable to publish, because it was playing out in, like, a silent bubble.”

Russell issued a public apology to Aoki and her sister later that year.
