Latest Shocking Entertainment News: Jodie Whittaker Says She Was 'Vacant' When She Met J. Lo on Joint Movie Set
Celebrities, including Jake Gyllenhaal and more, are just like Us when it comes to meeting their idols — and other famous stars.
Gyllenhaal recalled being starstruck when he met Pitt on the set of The Good Girl in the early 2000s.
“I was working with Jennifer Aniston, who was his wife at the time, and there were a lot of very racy scenes. I remember putting my hand out to shake his, and accidentally hitting the door,” Gyllenhaal told the outlet. “[Brad] said, so confidently and kindly, ‘Well, you have another one. It’s all right.’ He was very, very, very sweet to me, and it was actually a really lovely exchange. But, yeah, I was starstruck.”
Doctor Who alum Jodie Whittaker, meanwhile, was completely floored when she met Jennifer Lopez on the set of their joint movie, Office Romance.
“[She’s] one of the most beautiful human beings I’ve ever seen,” Whittaker told The Times of London in September 2025. “I probably appeared incredibly vacant because for the first five minutes I was going, ‘How?’”

Sterling K. Brown
The This Is Us alum couldn't keep himself together when he met Meryl Streep. “She’s just talking, being regular old Streep, and I’m like, ‘No, I can’t, I don’t know.’ I couldn’t talk. I just lurked. I was weird. I was a creeper,” Brown admitted during a December 2023 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The Cravings founder and her husband, John Legend, attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in April 2023 and sat tables away from Vanderpump Rules stars Ariana Madix, Lisa Vanderpump and Lala Kent. “On our way out, we actually stopped by their table. They were being mobbed by people,” Teigen recalled one month later on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “I mean, you guys, everybody is at this event but people couldn’t get enough of them! I actually felt bad for bothering them, I was like, ‘You guys must be exhausted!’ I looked at Ariana [and] was like, ‘How are you?’ because it’s been chaos for all of them [since Ariana’s then-boyfriend Tom Sandoval’s cheating scandal]. But, it was really nice to be able to see them.”

The “Hello” singer was shocked during the 2023 Grammy Awards in February when she was introduced to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. “The person that Adele has always wanted to meet and never has, is Dwayne Johnson,” host Trevor Noah explained at the time, before bringing the former wrestler to Adele’s table. “I don’t have Dwayne Johnson here tonight, but I do have someone called The Rock.” The British songstress was awestruck as she got up to give Johnson a hug. When she later took home the trophy for Best Pop Solo Performance (“Easy on Me”), the Pacifier actor called her his new “best friend.” Adele’s boyfriend, Rich Paul, for his part, pretended to fake fight Johnson during one of the show’s breaks. The musician laughed as Paul playfully shook his fist at the Black Adam actor.
Adele
The "Chasing Pavements" singer was bowled over when she learned that Shania Twain was in the audience for one of her Las Vegas shows. "Thank god you had a hat on," the Grammy winner joked via Instagram in November 2022, sharing a photo of Twain in the crowd. "I would have self combusted had I seen it was you. I adore you, I can't believe you came to my show."
Sophie Turner
“[Kendall Jenner] was at the Met [Gala] and I love the Kardashians,” the Game of Thrones alum revealed during a May 2022 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I think she's so gorgeous in real life and I was so, like, struck by her beauty. She invited me to this low-key afterparty.” After Turner was admittedly starstruck by the model, she turned down the sweet invitation. “And I'm like, ‘Why? Why do I do this to myself?’” the England native told Jimmy Fallon. “I just sat in bed and ate pasta and I was like, ‘Could be somewhere else right now.’”
Elisabeth Moss
The Handmaid's Tale star was literally speechless when she met Sandra Bullock at an awards show. "I just didn't know what to say," Moss said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in May 2022. "She's so cool, and she's so funny, and we stood backstage next to each other at God knows which thing, and I just stood there and didn't say anything to her. I froze."
Jennifer Garner
The Juno star got a major gift for her 50th birthday when her childhood hero Donny Osmond showed up to serenade her. “I met Prince Harry. He was just lovely,” the country singer wrote via Instagram in February 2022 after running into the royal at Super Bowl LVI. “I even curtsied in my track suit.”

The Nightcrawler actor has been starstruck on multiple occasions, including the time he met Patinkin and Pitt. He recalled to W Magazine in January 2022 that he “accidentally” hit his hand on the door while trying to shake the Fight Club star’s hand when he saw him on the set of The Good Girl.
