The first season of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" finished with a bang in October 2022, leaving fans clamoring for the already-announced season two. While no official plot details have been announced yet, "The Rings of Power" writer and executive producer Gennifer Hutchison previously teased what roads may lie ahead in season two. "I will say that, at the end of the season, we really set a lot of threads in motion. Whether they feel more immediate or more down the line, I think, is something that fans can kind of speculate [on] themselves," she told Collider following season one's finale. "But the intent is definitely to follow those paths that we set in motion at the end."

"The Rings of Power," a prequel to the Lord of the Rings film series, launched on Sept. 2, 2022, on Prime Video. The series attracted 25 million viewers during the premiere, making it the streamer's biggest premiere to date.
